Steephill Cove is a very special place that takes you back in time. The rock pooling, sandcastle building and ice cream eating I enjoyed as a child remains the same. Named "Steephill" for a very good reason, it is accessible by a steep slope and rather a lot of steps. Some say it is the charm of the place - which really is one of the south coast's best kept secrets.
IT'S BEEN AN AMAZING WEEK, WE WILL BE BACK!
SUCH A UNIQUE SETTING
Beautiful whatever the weather, the cove changes every day. The calm blue sky days of summer are marked by lapping waves and the accompanying children's shrieks of excitement. Equally fantastic are the dramatic stormy seas of winter and moody sky scapes.
There are exhilarating cliff walks in both directions. Head west and you have the southern pinnacle of the island, marked by St Catherine's lighthouse in your sights. Ventnor Botanical Garden is a stones throw away and well worth a visit. Heading east you have the Victorian seaside town of Ventnor a 30 minute walk away.
This is the place to turn back the clock and forget about the world
